Kitengela Hot Glass provides bespoke lighting solutions from a single embedded LED (light-emitting diode) in a paperweight to 1.2-ton chandeliers.
“The lighting that we do, which includes skylights, standing lamps and floor lighting, often comes from collaboration,” Anselm elaborates. “Interior designers and architects come to us needing specific elements, something that hadn’t been done before, like a unique design for hanging lights.”
Modification of existing Kitengela Hot Glass pieces also came into play. If the base of a vase isn’t working quite right, Anselm and company might use a diamond saw to cut it in half, creating a wall light.
“We’re always experimenting,” he adds, “combining mediums. For instance, embedding LEDs in a Dalle de Verre panel so a window lights up.”
